QUESTIONABLE STATEMENTS:
"He's the only businessman running so he's the only one that even knows what he's doing."
False. On the Republican side, three other candidates are former businessmen. U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Holland) worked at Herman Miller for 15 years, ending his career as vice president of marketing. Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard has been a small business owner owning Beverly Hills Gourmet Yogurt and Ice Cream Shoppe and Tech Consulting, according to his campaign. Sen. Tom George (R-Kalamazoo) was a founder of the KA Pain Clinic and is currently a partner and shareholder at Kalamazoo Anesthesiology P.C., which he joined in 1985. The physician relinquished his voting rights when he began serving in the Legislature, according to his campaign. On the Democratic side, House Speaker Andy Dillon (D-Redford Township) was vice president for G.E. Capital and president of Detroit Steel Co.
OVERALL IMPRESSION:
Snyder wants so hard to be seen as the only non-politician in the campaign that he ignores that several of his opponents also have at least some business experience. Interestingly, one could argue that Snyder has at least some "political" experience, being appointed by former Gov. John Engler as the first chair of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation in 1999.

Foul. Snyder is far from being the only businessman in the race and should stop claiming to be.
